With the tireless support of family and friends, we started Drew’s Tunes for the two-fold purpose of providing musical instruments to young children and to support research on the cause and possible prevention of SUDC. Within the first year, Drew’s Tunes donated $64,000, helping 365 children in the state of Louisiana. Now we have donated over $200,000 to support music education and research for SUDC, with the majority impacting the children of New Orleans.
"MARCH"ing forward to the #TwinkleTribute and SUDC Awareness Month
Each year for Drew’s Angelversary (March 12th) we ask people to play, dance or sing to Drew’s favorite song Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star and post it to their social media with the hashtag #twinkletribute4drew. For each public video posted with the hashtags we donate $1 to a music program (up to $5,000). We do this bring awareness to Drew’s Tunes and our mission, but also to celebrate our beautiful boy.
LOVE LIKE DREW CHALLENGE
For the Love of Drew
Drew’s sweet mama, Georgia, is a guest blogger for New Orleans Moms Blog. In August 2014, she wrote a blog sharing the details from the worst day of her life. We invite you to read her blog to learn about Drew, the day he passed, and how a mother’s love created a legacy for her son that shines so bright.
Starting the New Year on a High Note!
Salmen High School Playing a New Tune
Thanks to your support Drew’s Tunes was able to donate two sousaphones, a trumpet and a trombone. These beautiful instruments cost thousands of dollars and would have been out of reach without our foundation’s donation. This year Congressman Steve Scalise's office nominated Salmen to represent Louisiana in the 2019 National Independence Parade in Washington, D.C. We are so excited to help Salmen march in style this July
